Dental Bridges

A fixed bridge is a way to replace missing teeth. It spans the space between two teeth, replacing the missing teeth. It is cemented onto the teeth and doesn’t come in and out. The teeth on either side of the space are prepared as for crowns, which act as retainers that support the bridge. The retainers are connected to a pontic which replaces the missing tooth.

Advantages

  • Look and feel like natural teeth
  • Is not removable

Disadvantages

  • Affects the adjacent teeth
  • Requires extra time to clean under the pontic each day
